Poshmark is a platform where you can sell your new or used clothing and accessories! I started using the Poshmark app in May 2018. That was when I decided to make a big jump and move from New Hampshire to Tennessee. Moving trucks were so expensive and I did not have that kind of money. I knew I wouldn’t be able to fit everything I had in my tiny 2004 Rav4.
As I slowly started to pack, I started going through all of my clothes. I seperated what I loved, what I haven’t worn in years and what I just don’t like anymore. More than half of what I wanted to get rid of had tags on it. I tried bringing some of the clothes to the local consignment store where they buy used clothes to resell. They told me the clothes I had were either out of style or had too much ‘wear and tear.’ I was so close to driving to Goodwill and just donating all of it. Then I realized I could list it all on Poshmark.
The first thing I sold was an old Coach lanyard I bought a few years earlier. I sold it for $10. How Poshmark works is, you list an item with the color, condition, pictures, brand, etc. When someone buys an item, Poshmark sends you a prepaid shipping label, that the customer paid for. All you have to do is print the label and ship the item. Poshmark does take 20% of sales that are over $20 and $2.95 for sales under $20. On that Coach lanyard, I made $7.05. $7.05 I wouldn’t have had if I never got on Poshmark. Now fast forward almost a year later, I’ve made about $3,000 selling straight from my closet. I’ve even bought great items off Poshmark from other sellers! I think Poshmark is a great tool that everyone should use if you are looking to clean out your closet or fill it up!
